Vexed Generation（ヴェクストジェネレーション）は、増え続ける監視カメラや空気汚染、当時の政治方針に対するカウンターとして1994年にイギリスで誕生したブランド。その1998年秋冬コレクション「Crusader 21」で発表されたジャケットを、ヨウジヤマモトがサンプリングして制作した希少な一着です。

Yohji Yamamotoのメインラインではなく、ダーバンとのコラボブランド「A.A.R.」として展開されたアイテムで、ダーバンは後にテックウェアブランド「XX OUTFITTERS」を設立しています。

リュックやカバンに使用されるような厚手で頑丈なナイロン素材を採用し、本家同様の高い耐久性を誇る仕様。フードの内側にはスナップボタンで着脱可能なマスクやドローコードが備えられ、目元まで覆えるデザインは、Vexed Generationらしい”現代の忍者”を思わせるギミックが効いています。

さらに、ボディ前面にはノートPCが収納できるジッパー付きポケットに加え、雑誌やペットボトルが入るサイズのフラップ付きポケットも配置され、機能性とデザイン性を兼ね備えた一着となっています。


Vexed Generation was founded in the UK in 1994 as a countermeasure against the increasing presence of surveillance cameras, air pollution caused by economic growth, and contemporary political policies. This jacket, originally released in the brand’s Fall/Winter 1998 collection “Crusader 21,” was later sampled by Yohji Yamamoto, making it a rare and highly sought-after piece.

Rather than being part of Yohji Yamamoto’s mainline, this item was produced under “A.A.R.,” a collaboration between Yohji Yamamoto and Durban. Following this partnership, Durban later established the techwear brand “XX OUTFITTERS.”

Made from thick, highly durable nylon commonly used for backpacks and luggage, the jacket retains the exceptional toughness of the original Vexed Generation design. The hood features a detachable mask and drawstrings secured with snap buttons, allowing the wearer to cover their face up to the eyes—an element that embodies Vexed Generation’s signature “modern ninja” aesthetic.

Additionally, the jacket is equipped with a large zippered pocket on the front, capable of holding a laptop, along with flap pockets spacious enough for magazines or water bottles. This fusion of functionality and bold design makes it a standout piece.
